Marked - The Markdown Ninja’s New Best Friend
Marked – The Next Best Thing Since Sliced Bread
I downloaded an app from the App store based on several other’s recommendation, MinimalMac, David Sparks called Marked iTunes link which according to the description:
…will open MultiMarkdown, Markdown, Text or HTML files and previews them as HTML documents. It watches the file for changes, updating the preview any time the file is saved. With a full set of preview styles, Marked adds an ideal “live” Markdown preview to any text editor. Plus… copy HTML with a keystroke, save to PDF or Print, or export to HTML in seconds.
There is so much awesomeness here it is hard to describe. I’m writing this using TextEdit (the free text editor that comes with every Mac), next to the window where I’m typing I have the same file open in Marked. Every time I hit save the file updates in the Marked preview window. Now I don’t have to have a special editor or use NValt (coded by the same Brett Terpstra that coded Marked). I just use TextEdit and mark it up using Markdown, save the file and open it in Marked.
It’s just way to easy now.
If you have a Mac, you need this little bit of goodness.
